Reservations for the high season 2018: The past year we felt it was a bit too busy in July and August and we want to do something about that. That is why we decided to accept less reservations for the high season this year. So… the one who reserves first, gets the first place and unfortunately: full is full. The online reservations started this week.

New excursions: Just like every year, we renew our excursion program with new excursions and trips. The content of several existing excursions will also be renewed. For example, the popular snorkelling excursion will remain in the program, but it will get a new version; in 2018 we go by speedboat to a remote spot for snorkelling. We go to a beach that can only be reached by boat. And on our news page we already revealed a new activity; the fat bike excursion. This is an off-road bike tour with an electric fat bike. As soon as we have more news, we put this on our excursion page: Excursions.

Walking holidays on Crete: From the end of March until the beginning of November 2018 we organize various new walking holidays. For 2018 we have put together several nice programs for a multi-day walking holiday. Of course, you can also join us on a single hike. On our page Walking on Crete you read more about our great variety in hikes we organize. The pictures on these pages will give you a good impression about what to expect on these hikes.

New in 2018 Zorbas Island: You can combine your holiday at Zorbas Island on Crete with a visit to the Greek islands. Think for example of a week at Zorbas and a week of island hopping to the Cyclades. We have set out routes and tours on Santorini, Naxos and Amorgos. We can also reserve your accommodations on the islands. The departure for this is from Heraklion, with a fast ferry. For more information have a look at: Island hopping in Greece.

Zorbas Travel: Over the years we have collected a lot of useful and interesting information about Crete. Depending on what you like to do yourself, we can help you into the right direction. For example, we can rent for you a car, motorcycle, scooter, or bicycle. We have plenty of route maps, which you can borrow to fill up your holiday and to see the most beautiful places of Crete. But perhaps you would rather not go out on your own and would like to go diving, on a boat, jeep safari, horseback, or other activity. Our list with options is too long to mention here. Please look at our Zorbas program.

Airport transfer: You do not need to worry about how to get to us. We can arrange your transfer from and to the airport. After your reservation we provide you with all the information you need. If you wish to be picked up, please let us know in time.

Why Zorbas Island: It is an affordable and great location, which is not overrun by mass tourism. In addition, the nice atmosphere, a personal service and the culture make Zorbas Island unique. Tour operators ask us every year to cooperate with them. We prefer to work independently in our own way with different nationalities and continue to do so every year with great pleasure! It is not without a reason that many of our guests return every year. For us it is important we surprise you every year again with new excursions and activities on Crete. In this way, it remains also for the guests who return every year, a great experience and for us it is never boring. In general we are busy preparing our activities in the winter, setting out new walks, routes for the jeep safari, snorkel spots, outdoor excursions and other fun trips. The guests who come for vacation to us in winter, like to join us on these exploratory trips. The guests in the summer experience the final result.

Accommodation Zorbas Island: The accommodation with 21 apartments is located directly on the coast. From our swimming pool you have a breath-taking view of the Aegean Sea. Directly at the pool you will find our pool bar and tavern with outdoor kitchen and grill house. Every day we serve your breakfast & dinner in our tavern as a buffet, while you enjoy the beautiful view. In the outdoor kitchen and grill house we regularly prepare typical Greek grill dishes or a BBQ at the end of the day. In the kitchen we use fresh vegetables and herbs from our own organic garden around the apartments. We offer an extensive lunch menu with a variety of sandwiches, snacks, pancakes, omelettes and mezedes (small Greek appetizers). In addition, you can also enjoy delicious local Cretan wines, a good cup of coffee, lovely ice creams and milkshakes or a special cocktail. Zorbas Island is open all year round and is suitable for everybody with apartments for 1 up to 6-12 persons. It is also possible to stay here with a group. Click on Zorbas Island.

Beach at Zorbas Island: We have a private sandy beach right in front of the accommodation. It is a wonderful place to relax on a bed in the sun and to dive into the sea. If you fancy something to eat or drink, we will simply bring it to you on the beach. There are sunbeds and umbrellas on the beach and our guests can always use these free of charge.

Pre-reservation: You can make a pre-reservation, which gives you time to organise your flights (5 days). Through e-mail you can let us know you want to make a pre-reservation, after which you have 5 days to book you flight. Sometimes it saves a lot of money when you travel a day earlier or later than planned. We advise everybody to make a pre-reservation from three days before to three days after the planned dates of travel. There is no charge for a pre-reservation.

With kind regards from the ZORBAS TEAM
