You can put together your own 8-day or 15-day vacation by making a selection from all our outdoor activities in Crete in winter. For example you can choose from the following outdoor activities: 15 days with 6 activities including a 5-day diving course (Padi open water) or a jeep safari of 2 or 3 days. You can also book for 15 days with 1 active week in Crete and a beach week. Additionally there are opportunities to tour around Crete for a week with a car or on a bicycle. We offer various weeks during the year for which you can register for an active vacation in Crete, combined with accomodation including meals. Your breakfast and dinner will be arranged based on the activities you choose to participate in. We would appreciate it if you would indicate beforehand with which activities you would like to participate, so we can better organize our outdoor activities.

Our most popular outdoor vacation is: 1 day hiking in Crete, 1 day DSD dive (a first introduction dive in the sea), 2 days abseilen in Crete (this is with a course), 1 day sailing in Crete, 1 day jeep safari in Crete. All of these activities will take about 6 days of your vacation.

Weekly program for outdoor vacation in Crete: Arrival first day in Crete: we will pick you up from the airport of Heraklion. We will give you a briefing about your stay and all outdoor activities of this week. If you arrive at night, we will always make sure that you can still enjoy a delicious Greek meal.

Second outdoor day in Crete: a hike past Milos. A summer and winter hike, where you will walk on old kalderini (donkey paths) in central Crete. Departure at 08.30 am. Upon arrival at location our hike will start immediately with a steep downward path. After this we will walk alongside the riverbed of the Milos for a beautiful varying nature landscape. Along the way we will provide an outdoor lunch. In this nature reserve you will see many turtles. The total tour is 12-22 kilometers.

Third outdoor day in Crete: DSD dive in Crete. At 08.30 am you will be brought to the dive center, where during the morning you will first get a theoretical class about diving. After the coffee break you will make your first dive under supervision of a diving instructor. The maximum depth for this DSD scuba dive is 12 metres. Many of our guests decide to take the complete open water dive course during their second week.

Fourth and fifth outdoor day in Crete: Abseilen (rappelling, controlled descent down a rope) in Crete. Already at 7 am you will be picked up to go abseiling in the South of Crete. In the morning you will receive theoretical instructions, after which the abseiling starts in the mountains in Crete in the winter. You will overnight in the mountains and will return on day 5 after 20.00 at your accomodation. Of course while on location all meals will be taken care of by us.

Hiking on Crete: We have outlined various hiking routes for the hiking enthousiast. We offer you shorter and longer hiking routes, that are not organized by touroperators. We enjoy showing you the most beautiful spots in Crete on foot. You can also head ut by yourself, we will gladly tell you where you can take beautiful walks in Crete during summer and winter. Hiking in Crete is healthy for young and old alike.

Adventurous walk and hike in Crete: a fun hike, open for everybody with a normal physical condition. We will drive to a small mountain village in Central Crete. There we will first have a coffee in the old village kafenion. After coffee the adventure in Crete will start. We will descend towards a river, overgrown with bamboo, cipresses, grass (only in winter) and a lot of wild vegetation. With help of a machete we must wade through the river. The river is dry most of the time during winter and summer, but now and then there is still some water (in winter). Over a range of 15 km we take a hike through the difficult terrain of the riverbed. Along the way we tell you about plants and nature in Crete. There is much to see: on both sides of the river we will walk in between mountains. Actually it is a long canyon. Along the way, we will have coffee and tea, and we will make a BBQ of the wood that we gather during the walk. This outdoor holiday activity can be booked throughout the year. We also do this tour regularly at night. In the dark you get a very different impression of nature with the stark mountains around you. What do we take along? Hiking boots, rain gear, backpack and a flashlight. Everyone will have to take some of our baggage, because we always take plenty of stuff with us. We also have a tour of 5 km for children of 8 years and up.

Abseiling in Crete: During your winter and summer holiday in Crete you can also take a course in a more challenging level of abseiling in Crete. You will receive some hours of theoretical instructions, after which you will learn how to rappel from various ravines and canyons. This tour lasts two days and is a very adventurous trip. You will start in southern Crete, in an area filled with deep gorges and high cliffs. This tour is only with experienced guides who know this area inside out. In the winter we organize this course often as well, and then you will do the abseiling through waterfalls. We will provide you with a diving suit with neoprene boots. Your luggage will be brought to the accommodation. You will overnight in a small chapel in the mountains, to continue the hiking and rappelling tour the next morning. At night you will return to your original accommodation.

Hiking with map and compass in Crete: you will receive an explanation of the orientation aids: reading of maps and use of the compass. Then we will go in small groups to begin the expedition in Crete. You must find out all the landmarks. We will start at 4 points, from which we all meet at a central point for a delicious barbecue in the mountains. We will have walkie talkies with us for each group, but we will try not to use the walkie talkies. This orientation tour in Crete is an educational and adventurous experience. Correct use of the compass and directions from the instructor must ensure that all of you arrive at the same spot. Sometimes we do this excursion with several tasks on the go. But if you take this adventurous hike for the first time, it is hard enough already. The total hike is between 15 and 20 km. We have several locations in Crete for this winter outdoor excursion. We also offer opportunities for this walk in Crete with map and compass at night. This nightly tour is only possible if one has already done the day excursion.

The Crete code: After explanation about the GPS, an adventurous route will be traveled through the wild nature of Crete. The groups will hit the road and will look for the various Crete codes placed in the area, with help of the GPS. During the Crete code excursion, each group will be sent off with a number of questions which must be answered during the tour. In case you meet another group during the Crete code, the group that was at a code location last should give the other group a head start of 5 minutes. If you meet each other again, this group may go ahead and that group has to wait for 5 minutes. We will monitor everything along the way. At the end of the tour we will check to see who has solved the most Crete codes. Besides that we will determine with the GPS which group has walked the most kilometers. This is how we calculate who will be the winner. Crete codes are puzzles that you can solve in nature. We use various locations in Crete. During the Crete code excursion we will organize an outdoor lunch in nature.

Crete Survival: Outdoor summer & winter program in Crete with various activities for 1 or 2 days in central Crete. During the survival excursion in Crete you will start early in the morning with a map and compass tour through the wilderness of central Crete. You will do a hiking tour across a range of 10 kilometers, where you yourself must look for all orientation items. Thereafter we will have a BBQ with wood. In the afternoon we will take a hiking tour of 12 km. After that we will build a hut ourselves where we will spend the night. When it gets dark we will do a night drop-off with various tasks. Then it’s bed time with a camp fire.

Early in the morning first personal hygiene, then we continue our survival excursion in Crete. You will get another map, with instructions on where to go. In the afternoon we will meet each other at the end of the gorge, and then we will clear our heads for 6 km with a walk on the beach and a swim in the sea. Here we will go treasure hunting on a reef with snorkels. Treasure hunting in the sea is an interesting activity; everyone will receive instructions in advance about snorkeling in Crete. Then we return to our accommodation. This tour is also a great thing to do for families on vacation.

Snorkeling in Crete: we organize more adventurous outdoor activities in Crete... snorkeling. In the morning you will receive all instructions from the dive instructor. Then we will head out to sea on a speedboat, where you will be snorkeling at two different locations.

Boat excursion in Crete: with a speed boat, we will make a tour to a deserted island. We will look at all the rocks and reefs and then go ashore. Here we will have a barbecue at a small cave. You can go hiking, canoeing, swimming and snorkeling here. Later that day we will go to the other side of the island, where we will go dolphin watching (not guaranteed). Around Crete there are regularly groups of dolphins. But besides dolphins, there are also many other interesting things to see, like flying fish and beautiful nature.
