Holiday Crete 2026 agenda – Agenda Zorbas Island, Crete – Season 2026: our new agenda is ready with the excursions for 2026, including many new excursions. You are probably curious about the activities we will be organising at Zorbas in the coming year, and this agenda provides an overview of all the activities that will interest you. We will highlight special excursions and activities: three multi-day E4 (new; in Plakias). We will be island hopping in Karpathos in October. Several cooking workshops, and a two-day jeep safari. And we also have a new, unknown South Crete tour (4 days).

Walking week
18 to 21 May 2026 – E4 walk Plakias
Welcome to our walking week (E4) in beautiful Plakias, located in the heart of southern Crete! During this unforgettable 4-day experience, you will stay 3 nights in the charming village of Plakias, which is the perfect base for breathtaking walks. We have put together a wonderful programme that will take you to the most picturesque spots in the region. The following programme is subject to change:
Day 1: walk from Mirthios via an old watermill to Plakias. Along the way, you will have beautiful views of Plakias Bay.
Day 2: circular walk on the peninsula. We walk to beautiful Kalypso and then to a tunnel system from the Second World War, partly in a cave. Along the way, you will have beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and the bay of Plakias.
Day 3: Prevelli circular walk. From an old Venetian bridge, we walk to the palm beach of Prevelli. We walk into the gorge with the palm trees and a small river and then walk back to our starting point via small paths.
Day 4: walk from Damnoi beach. Hilly walk with beautiful beaches along the way.

8 to 11 June 2026 – Four-day Unknown Crete tour 2026 – Sougia – Paleochora – Loutro
Sougia programme: imagine; the warm sun on your face, the gentle murmur of the Libyan Sea in the background, and the tranquillity of a hidden gem on Crete. Welcome to Sougia, the destination for an unforgettable four-day trip full of culinary highlights, breathtaking nature and authentic Greek charm. Jeep safari – 2 days
15 and 16 June 2026: a 2-day jeep safari to southern Crete with an overnight stay there. This allows us to see many parts of Crete, driving mostly off-road and occasionally on asphalt.
7 July to 31 August 2026 – High season in Crete: during this period, we have an extensive family programme including football, visits to the water park, hiking, snorkelling, sailing, safari, diving, waterfall excursions, cooking and much more.
September 2026 – 2-day sailing trip to Dia and Paxomadi: first we will sail from the Venetian harbour of Heraklion to the islands off the coast. There will be time for swimming and snorkelling. We will spend the night on Dia Island. The next day, we will finally sail back to Heraklion.
Visit Karpathos
5 to 8 October 2026 – Island hopping to Karpathos
Karpathos is an island located approximately 230 km northeast of Crete. From Heraklion, we will take first the ferry via Dia, Sitia, Vai, Dragondad, Elasa, and Kassos (where the ferry stops) to Karpathos.
Island hopping to Karpathos: get ready for an unforgettable trip to beautiful Karpathos! From 5 to 8 May 2026, we will be island hopping to Karpathos. The adventure begins in the port of Heraklion, Crete. The ferry will take us to breathtaking Karpathos, stopping at several charming islands along the way, making the journey itself an experience. Your home base on Karpathos: during our four-day, three-night stay, we will be staying in beautiful accommodation, right in the bustling capital of Karpathos. From here, we will discover the island’s hidden treasures together.

Harvesting olives
9 to 12 November 2026 – Olive harvest
On Monday 9 and Tuesday 10 November, we will be harvesting olives! Even if you don’t want to help with the harvest, there is plenty to see and do. We will visit the olive factory, have a barbecue in the field, sleep in the field (for those who want to), make a campfire and have breakfast there.
Harvesting olives on Crete: the time of olive harvesting in Crete has come again. From early November until the end of January, olives are taken from the trees all over the island for olive oil production. Crete is known for its high quality olive oil, Extra Virgin Olive Oil. At Zorbas Island, we use olive oil for all our dishes, which we produce ourselves every year. So it’s time again to put on work clothes and go out into the country with the whole Zorbas team. Saturday 14 November 2026 – 70s and 80s evening
Culinary grill evening with Zorbas specialities. Afterwards, we’ll hit the dance floor with a retro music evening themed around the 70s and 80s. So come dressed up, everyone!
