Our 2026 renovation
Our brand new 2-person apartments are almost ready!
The renovation on Zorbas Island is in its final stages and we can’t wait to share the first photos with you. These cosy apartments have been lovingly designed for two people and will open on 3 April.
What makes these homes truly special is their complete comfort: everything is on one level and without thresholds. From the sunny veranda, you step through the large sliding doors into the spacious living room. The kitchen, luxurious shower and beautiful bedroom at the rear are also accessible without thresholds. Enjoy a modern, open feeling where indoors and outdoors merge seamlessly!

The new excursions for 2026
The Zorbas Island team has not been idle this winter! While tranquillity descended on Kokkini Hani, we set out to rediscover the island. The result? A brand new excursion programme full of surprises, specially designed for both our new guests and the familiar faces we welcome back every year.
Walking for all levels: We have mapped out a beautiful new walk that is accessible to absolutely everyone. Enjoy nature on smooth, beautiful gravel paths without any significant elevation changes. Just relax, walk and look around you. For adventurers who like to push the boundaries, Heike is heading back into the mountains. We have a few challenging new longer-distance hikes lined up that will really put your calves to work!
The highlight of the year: Unknown Crete: Our absolute favourite has been completely revamped. Unknown Crete will be the highlight of 2026. We have found routes that were new even to us: authentic villages, hidden valleys and unique encounters. This is Crete as you have never seen it before.
Underwater world: New snorkelling spots: There is also news to report underwater! This winter, we have mapped out two brand new snorkelling spots. The great thing is that these spots have been chosen so that we can visit them in any type of winter weather (and spring winds). Whether the sea is calm or a little wilder, we always have a sheltered spot where you can admire the beautiful underwater world.

New in 2026 Adrianos Gorge on Crete: This is a challenging hike for experienced walkers! We start the hike near Neapolis, Lassithi. It begins immediately with a steep climb along a well-maintained path. We then walk across the mountain via an old donkey trail, enjoying beautiful views of the surrounding area. At the top of the ridge, we see the village below us, from where we enter the gorge. After a descent, we arrive in the village. Here we walk around the village, which is largely deserted.

We have fantastic news! This winter, we will be completely renovating some of our rear ground floor apartments at Zorbas Island in Kokkini Hani to offer our guests even more comfort. We are busy creating a new, fresh style and a luxurious look. Think of more spacious showers and a completely different layout, with a beautiful new entrance and more space.
We think of everyone: to make the stay of our older guests even more comfortable, especially in the early and late seasons, we are installing additional facilities such as toilet rails. This provides greater convenience and safety, so that all our guests can enjoy themselves to the fullest. And that’s not all! We plan to continue in the winter of 2026 and give all remaining apartments the same luxury upgrade. This will ensure that all our accommodations offer that extra comfort in the long term.
