Autumn in Greece: According to the calendar it now is officially autumn in Greece, but in reality it is still summer on Crete. The sun is shining and the temperature is very pleasant for an active holiday in Crete. Sun, sea, and gorge walking are a perfect combination in autumn. For example, there is the walk through the gorge of Agiofarago, which ends at a beach on the Libyan Sea. This is a great spot for sunbathing, picnicking, and snorkelling.
The walk through the Agiofarago gorge is not difficult and is back and forth only 6 km. Right from the beginning the gorge looks spectacular. On your left and right you can see the high cliffs with stalagmites and stalactites. Along the way you see many oleander bushes and in the beautiful high cliffs are caves where anchorites once lived. The end of the gorge is on an idyllic beach. Here you can relax on the beach or go snorkelling in the Libyan Sea. In the sea, there are the most beautiful rock formations and tunnels.
